Instituto Hera is a medical and dental clinic in a small town called Santo Estevão, located in the Bahia state in Brazil. Its population is 47,880 where the majority live in the rural area and the average monthly minimum wage is USD $ 276.

As every small city, when a citizen needs medical or dental care, they go to the closest bigger town. In this case, this city is Feira de Santana. There, they can find CT scans, X-Rays, general blood tests and any sort of exams and consultations.

So, the owner of this clinic, a dentist, and his wife, a psychiatrist, decided to do a market research to study opportunities and open a clinic that could provide all those exams, along with several specializations in medical and dental care.

How did I end up in this project?

After the market research was done, my team was hired just to create the website. So we read the document and had interviews with the client, to understand better the business needs as well as the users.

The requirements we found:
Client:

• A simple website that redirects the customers to make an appointment, get results and be in contact through whatsapp.
• Pages showing the clinic’ structure and staff, mostly because the users go to the clinic when they know the professional and their work previously. In such a small town, this is culturally very common.

The users:

• As they mostly access the internet on mobile phones, the main format is mobile.
• There must be several CTA buttons directing the users to whatsapp, the main communication chanel used by the clinic.
• Clean and simple structure and texts, as the average educational level is low.

The process:

• Firstly the wireframe was built. Once it was approved,
• I created the small styleguide with colors and fonts;
• Started distributing the colors, texts according to weight, focusing on accessibility and making sure the buttons were clearly at sight.

The project remained in the middle fidelity wireframe, due to the company didn’t finish the job with the developer.
